The New York Association of Black Journalists will hold an election for its executive board in November 2025.

To apply to become a candidate, please click here: bit.ly/nyabj23elections.The deadline to submit the application is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21.

The following positions are up for election: president, vice president-print, vice president-broadcast, vice president-digital/new media, treasurer, parliamentarian, secretary and member-at-large.

Elected officers’ two-year terms will run from Jan. 1, 2024, to Dec. 31, 2025.

To run for office and/or vote, your NYABJ membership must have been current as of May 1.The election schedule is as follows:

• Friday, Aug. 14 — Call for candidates for NYABJ board.
• Sunday, Sept. 21, 11:59 p.m. — Deadline to submit application to run for NYABJ office.
• Monday, Oct. 6 — Deadline for election committee to certify and announce eligible candidates.
• Early/Mid-October — General-body meeting/Meet-the-Candidates Forum
• Friday, Oct. 24 — Online ballots will be emailed to voters who have not requested paper absentee ballots.
• Monday, Nov. 10, 11:59 p.m. — Deadline for online voting.  Deadline for paper absentee ballots to be postmarked.
• Friday, Nov. 21— Winning candidates will be announced.
