The New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) announced this year’s class of 2024 First Take Fellows. First Take is a six-week intensive program for high school students interested in journalism – teaching young New Yorkers the fundamentals of writing and reporting news stories, shooting and editing video, producing television newscasts, and more.

The New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) presented CBS Mornings anchor Nate Burleson with an excellence award.
The award was presented to him at the NYABJ’s Juneteenth Celebration event, which was held this past Monday. Burleson’s CBS News colleagues Jericka Duncan and Vlad Duthiers co-hosted the event, with Duthiers having the honor of handing the award to Burleson.
Burleson, 40, was recently honored by the New York Association of Black Journalists along with ABC News president Kim Godwin, and “Still Processing” podcasters Wesley Morris and Jenna Wortham.
