In 1976, the New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) proudly became a chapter of NABJ. Over the decades, NYABJ has been a trailblazer, leading the charge in uniting journalists of color, fostering community, and shaping the industry. New York City, after all, is the heartbeat of national news, a global fashion capital, and home to the United Nations, a fitting birthplace for a movement dedicated to representation and storytelling. Here's to 50 years of history in the making—leading the way for the next generation of Black journalists and storytellers!
